Robert K Browder, O.D.

Dr. Browder was born and raised in Pueblo, living on the East side all of his childhood. He attended Park View Elementary, Risley Jr High, Centennial High - then attended the new East High for the Jr and Sr year - graduating in 1961. He attended Pueblo Jr College and received an Associate of Arts Degree in 1963. He applied and was accepted to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1967. He then entered the U.S. Air Force as a Second Lieutenant in the Biomedical Science Corp. He was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He eventually was made head of the Optometry section at the base dispensary and promoted to Captain. He left the Air Force at the end of his enlistment period and came back to Pueblo and opened his own optometry practice in June 1970. He has practiced in Pueblo in several different locations over the years. He, also had a satellite office in La Junta, CO for almost 20 years. He has practiced at his present location on Greenwood Street for over 6 years. He had achieved the highest level of certification available for the practice of optometry in Colorado, in 1997, and has taken subsequent refresher courses required to maintain the same level of proficiency. He practices general optometry with special interest in contact lens fitting.
